Jamaica’s most celebrated athletes, including the likes of double Olympic Champion Elaine Thompson-Herah, the fastest woman alive at the 200 meters, Shericka Jackson, and reigning Olympic Champion at the 110m hurdles, Hansle Parchment, took center stage for the grand reveal. They were joined by other luminaries such as the second fastest man of all time, Yohan Blake, former 100m World Record holder Asafa Powell, and World U-20 Triple Jump Champion Jaydon Hibbert, among others. Alongside them were young athletes from PUMA-sponsored high schools, symbolizing the passing of the torch to the next generation of Jamaican talent.

The ISSA Boys & Girls Championships, affectionately known as “Champs,” has earned widespread acclaim for its ability to showcase young Jamaican talent who have gone on to achieve greatness both domestically and internationally. Beyond celebrating sporting excellence, Champs serves as a symbol of unity, passion, and pride for the Jamaican community.

“Champs is the beating heart of Jamaica. For decades, it has nurtured an extraordinary array of Olympians, World Champions, and World Record holders, who have etched their names into the annals of sports history. Tonight, here in Kingston, we added another chapter,” remarked PUMA’s Chief Executive Officer, Arne Freundt.

The newly unveiled designs represent a seamless fusion of speed and fashion, embodying the symbiotic relationship between athletics and style. Rooted in elite performance, the kits have been meticulously crafted to evoke speed, with cut lines strategically placed to accentuate the physique of the athletes. The Warpspeed graphics further enhance the visual appeal, capturing the beauty of an athlete in motion. Engineered jacquard fabric, ergonomically shaped to contour the back muscles, ensures heat reduction and breathability, while thermoadapt technology regulates body temperature to optimize performance.

“In their purest form, these kits are an embodiment of speed. Speed has always been PUMA’s vantage point, enabling us to redefine boundaries, challenge conventions, and create moments that resonate for eternity. We eagerly anticipate the excitement that awaits us in Paris this summer,” added Arne.

Maria Valdes, Chief Product Officer at PUMA, emphasized the special collaboration between the brand and the athletes in creating these kits. “What makes these kits truly exceptional is the close collaboration with our athletes. They are more than just uniforms; they are a statement of the shared ambition between PUMA and Jamaica. They symbolize pride for the PUMA family, and we hope they become a source of pride for Jamaicans this summer and beyond.”

As the world eagerly awaits the spectacle of the Paris Olympics, these innovative and stylish kits serve as a testament to the relentless pursuit of excellence and the enduring spirit of Jamaican athletics. With each thread woven with passion and purpose, PUMA and Jamaica are poised to leave an indelible mark on the global stage.

Jamaica – With just less than 100 days left until the Summer Olympics in Paris, Jamaica Athletics Administrative Association (JAAA) President is optimistic about the nation’s preparation for the global event.

London 2012 remains Jamaica’s most successful Olympics in terms of medals, with a haul of 13, thanks largely to Usain Bolt’s triple win in the 100m, 200m, and 4x100m relay. Fraser-Pryce also contributed significantly with her second consecutive 100m gold.

Jamaica’s Olympic journey began in London 1948, marked by Arthur Wint’s historic win in the men’s 400m and a silver in the 800m. Herb McKenley also earned a silver in the 400m, setting the stage for decades of Jamaican dominance in track and field.
