  • The games will take place from July 26 to August 11, 2024
  • The 2024 games will be the first to include breaking (also known as breakdancing) as an event
  • The 2024 games will be the first to have an equal number of men’s and women’s athletes
  • The games will include four new sports: breaking, sport climbing, skateboarding, and surfing
  • The games will be the last to be held during the presidency of IOC President Thomas Bach
  • The games are expected to cost €8.3 billion
  • The top 15 players on the Official World Golf Rankings (OWGR) are eligible for the Olympic Games, up to a maximum of four golfers from a single country
  • Thomas Jolly has been appointed as the artistic director of the four opening and closing ceremonies
