For the women, Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Japan, People’s Republic of China and France were allotted Pool A, with Australia, Argentina, Great Britain, Spain, United States and South Africa allocated Pool B.

For the women, all four quarter-finals will take place on Monday 5 August, with the semi-finals scheduled for Wednesday 7 August. The bronze medal match will get underway at 2pm on Friday 9 August with the gold medal match taking place at 8pm.
